Eligibility for PMAY - Gramin

Beneficiaries under PMAY–G are identified using the SECC (Socio-Economic and Caste Census) data; all homeless people and households reside in zero, one, or two-room kutcha houses with a kutcha wall and roof. However, the following households are not permitted to apply for this program.

1. Staying in a pucca house.

2. Having ownership of a motorized two, three, or four-wheel vehicle.

3. Having a three or four- wheeler agricultural machinery equipment.

4. Holding a Kisan credit card with a limit of at least Rs.50,000 or above.

5. Any household member is a government employee.

6. Operates a government registered non-agricultural business.

7. Pays income or any professional tax.

8. Already own a landline phone and refrigerator 7.5 acres or more of land with at least one irrigation equipment, 2.5 acres or more of irrigated land, 5 acres or more of irrigated land for two or more crop seasons.

The following are the target beneficiaries under PMAY-Gramin

1. Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).

2. Unprotected Households.

3. Poor or living solely on donations or charity.

4. Manual Scavengers.

5. Primitive tribal communities.

6.Bonded Laborer who has been discharged legally.

Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme for EWS/LIG

Beneficiaries of Economically Weaker section (EWS) and Low Income Group (LIG) submitting their applications for home loans from Banks, Housing Finance Companies and other such institutions would be eligible for an interest subsidy at the rate of 6.5% for a tenure of 20* years or during tenure of loan whichever is lower, any loan over this level will be assessed at a nonsubsidized rate. Credit Link Subsidy would be eligible for housing loans availed for new construction and addition of rooms, kitchen, toilet etc. to existing dwellings as incremental housing.

Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme for MIG*

Two income categories in the MIG are addressed by the CLSS for MIG: Rs. 6,00,001 to 12,00,000 (MIG-I) and 12,00,001 to 18,00,000 (MIG-II) annually. A 4% interest subsidy has been provided for loans up to Rs. 9 lakh under MIG-I, and a 3% interest subsidy has been provided for loans up to Rs. 12 lakh under MIG-II. 9% of net present value (NPV) over a maximum loan term of 20 years or the actual duration, whichever is lesser will be utilized for calculating the interest subsidy.

As per the income eligibility, CLSS for MIG will pay for the purchase or building of a 160 square meter home (including a repurchase) with a 200 square meter carpet space.

Central Nodal Agencies (CNAs), State Bank Of India (SBI), Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO), and National Housing Bank (NHB) have been assigned to provide this subsidy to lending institutions and manage the advancement of the components. In the future, the ministry might establish other institutions as CNAs. Under this scheme, beneficiaries can take advantage under one aspect only.
